Microsoft has released what looks like a pretty important security patch for SQL Server: MS16-136. To quote the announcement:
This update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft SQL Server. The most severe vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to gain elevated privileges that might be used to create accounts, or view, change, or delete data. [Emphasis mine.]
That…that sounds pretty important. Right now seems like an OUTSTANDING time to look that over and see if it applies to your systems.
