Database administrators understand what no one else does: what, exactly, DBAs do all day long.
We are long-time SQL Server DBAs who make software specifically for SQL Server DBAs.
Sean McCown, Head Architect
In 2004, Sean was working as the sole DBA for a company in Dallas. He was responsible for 1,000 SQL Server instances, and also responsible for eating regularly and seeing his family. So, he started writing automation and management scripts. Sean used his system to manage the whole enterprise, and still get home on time.
He spent the next fifteen years adding to, perfecting, and then packaging the system, and we named it Minion Enterprise.
Today he is MinionWare’s President and Head Architect, because he won’t let us put “Visionary” as his official title.

Jen has been a SQL Server DBA and developer since 1997. During that time, she became a Microsoft Certified Master, a SQL consultant, and an international speaker.
Now, she is the CEO of a software company that helps SQL Server database teams manage and maintain dozens or HUNDREDS of servers, using Minion Enterprise.
“MinionWare’s prime directive is to connect with data teams that need us, understand their environmental issues, and help them to address those issues. We’ve been the DBAs, deep in technical debt and low on resources. We put all of our experience into our software and made the tools that we want to use in production.”

Hiro has been a star player on the team for years now. He’s intelligent, communicative, flexible, a real go-getter, and extremely photogenic. We even had stickers made with this guy’s image!

Codex is an absolutely essential member of our team. She’s an independent operator who’s laser focused on rooting out corruption.
We simply cannot imagine a SQL Server shop without Emmett there to help. He does backups, okay? It’s a basic job that’s beyond vital…and he does it with class. He’s Availability Group-aware and takes direction extremely well.
Zoe is our efficiency expert. Her indexing skills are not to be overlooked. She’s steady and meticulous about recording operations, just like her fellow Minion team.
